RTT for depression
Research has shown that more adults and children, than ever before, are living with deep sadness and depressive episodes. People are either miserable, stressed out and anxious, or addicted, and maybe even a combination of all three. When there appears to be no solution to a problem, then, of course, life can feel hopeless. Many years ago, I myself spiralled downwards because I felt so helpless in my situation. Luckily, I found my solution, and now I help others to do the same. So, if you are reading this and recognising yourself, please don’t worry. I make no judgement of you. I only have complete empathy.
Depression is rarely caused by one thing, and there certainly isn’t, just one cure either. If you have a history of suffering, then you know that a full understanding of how a person became depressed is absolutely necessary, before any kind of treatment can be explored. Certainly, depression is a complex disorder, affecting all kinds of people in a multitude of ways, because depression does not discriminate. However, the good news is that it is considered to be a treatable illness, even in the most severe of cases.
Most people can relate to feeling a bit low sometimes, but that doesn't mean you have depression. Depression is much deeper, more regular and repetitive, and leaves its victims feeling trapped, in a state of negative thinking patterns and a gloomy outlook.
Depression affects people emotionally, mentally and physically.
Symptoms like random aches and pains, in the joints or back, or an upset stomach, with diarrhoea or constipation, can be signs of depression. For others, it's about a lack of concentration and motivation, and for some it means problems with getting to sleep, staying asleep or just needing to sleep all day. Changes in appetite and an increase or decrease in weight can also be an indicator.
Who can RTT benefit?
Rapid Transformational Therapy can really benefit some people because at its core it addresses negative thought patterns. When you address these thoughts early enough, its possible to prevent the spiralling down effect that takes a person into the depressive state, known by many, as “The Black Dog”. You can literally learn to put the “dog” back on its leash and get your mind under control.
Remember, we are all having conversations with ourselves, all of the time. That negative internal dialogue is a learnt behaviour, which is now running on an auto-pilot program, that you are not even conscious of. The “mind monkeys” take over, distort your reality and start creating only the worst case scenarios.
Unfortunately, our personalities and character traits get programmed into us, when we are so young, we don’t know how to be selective, or know what to choose. And so, even when we become an adult, it can feel like we are stuck living the same role, or childhood character. The “stage and set” may have changed completely, but somehow, we are still “5 years of age” and susceptible to the feelings, we did back then. It makes sense that people with adverse childhood experiences are more prone to have depression in adulthood. Either they did not get enough nurturing and connection, or they got too much neglect, abuse, and abandonment.
This kind of personal history can create a person that lacks confidence and self-esteem. This, in turn, leads to social phobia, and the net result is loneliness. Or perhaps an abused child accepts the victim role and then attracts an abusive or uncaring relationship and stays stuck in the belief that they are unlovable and unworthy of anything better. Maybe a person simply grows up not feeling good enough, and now social media gives them constant evidence and proof that a successful and happy life is only available to others.
