After 13 years of working in the health and fitness industry as a personal trainer, and training 100’s of men and women, who wanted to get rid of excess weight, I accumulated a great deal of knowledge about all kinds of diets. I also experienced the continual cycle of highs and lows that come with achieving the goal and then the slide backwards into old habits, and weight gain.
Despite my dedication, experience and nutritional training, I couldn’t prevent my PT clients from this weight loss rollercoaster. And as someone, who has only ever had a good relationship with food, I was stumped. The burning question in my mind was always, “Why did you reach your ideal weight, look and feel amazing, and then resume old eating habits that cause you to go back to square one?
Thankfully, I now have the answer, and it makes so much more sense to me than the ‘Psychology of weight loss’, which I was taught as a Personal Trainer. These days, I still help clients with eating issues, but I now see them have phenomenal, permanent success.
Using RTT, I help my clients to find the root cause of their negative relationship with food, and release them from it in just one or two sessions. When you understand that emotion is stronger than logic, it makes sense that you cannot create change with willpower alone. The conscious logical mind might know that you want to stop eating toxic foods, but the emotional subconscious mind believes you still want it. That's why working with the subconscious mind works. Updating the programming of old thoughts and beliefs is crucial before change can become permanent.
When you change the habit of thoughts you change the habit of action.
